Outback Spirit March 2011.pdf

Over the last few years gardening has undergone a revolution of sorts.

Water restrictions, climate change and rapidly disappearing native habitats has prompted a resurgence in native gardens. While rising food and petrol prices (amongst other things) have seen gardeners returning to home produce gardening. But, how to combine the two successfully?

Join local author and food lover Juliegh Robins on an exciting ‘wild food journey'.

Discover the distinctive flavours and aromas of native ingredients, including Kakadu plum, wild limes, bush tomatoes and mountain pepperberries. Experience the thrill of travelling outside your culinary comfort zone, while working with ingredients that are easy to source and use. Juleigh will run a cooking demonstration using her popular Outback Spirit products and talk about the harvesting and use of bush foods by Indigenous Australians.

This is a free event.
